About Norfolk Solar

Norfolk Solar…. origins and values

The organisation was founded in 2001 by Lee Rose. Lee is a domestic solar hot water and PV specialist and regularly teaches on solar training courses at LILI, BroadSol and the Centre for Alternative Technology. He has also worked closely with Logic Certification to develop their UK Government recognised training courses for plumbing and heating engineers. He is a published author and is highly active in the development and improvement of the industry.

Our installers are hand-picked for their experience, knowledge and good manners. We know them all personally and invest in their on-going development.

At Norfolk Solar, we are committed to:

Reducing our own and our customer’s carbon footprint
Reducing the reliance on fossil fuels
Promoting renewable energy technologies
Providing clear, accurate information on renewable technologies
Offering a competitive choice to people choosing to invest in renewable technologies
Operating in an environmentally conscientious manner
Being professional and courteous in all our actions

Norfolk Solar is unlike most other renewable energy organisations. Whilst it is important for every organisation to generate profits in order to remain economically sustainable, we have a particular interest in sustaining issues larger than Norfolk Solar itself and believe our products and services have the potential to deliver far greater benefits to issues facing the positive development of the renewable energy industry, our regional and global environment, and the local community we live in.

Our Values

We have been recognised for our values both by the Renewable Energy Association (REA) and the Norwich Eco Awards. The Renewable Energy Association noted:

“Norfolk Solar adopts an innovative, low carbon and ethical business model.”

Norfolk Solar is in its 19th year, and has established a strong reputation for quality, fair trade and service.

Solar PV by Norfolk Solar

Welcome to Norfolk Solar, the premier provider of solar PV, solar thermal and electric vehicle charging points in Norfolk.

Solar PV is the greenest way to provide heating and lighting to your home. Solar panels use photovoltaic cells to convert the sun's rays into a direct current of electricity which can be used to power anything requiring electricity in your home. You are then paid for anything you do not use as it is fed back to the grid.

As of 1st January 2020, this payment is made via the Smart Export Guarantee through your electricity provider so your system actually pays you.

Solar Thermal by Norfolk Solar

You may have become a little more conscious about turning on your heating or hot water as you become more conscious of the impact our fosil fuel use has on the environment, not to mention the constantly rising cost of fuel.

Whilst being more economic with your heating use is one thing, improving your conventional heating system will go much further in saving you money and the planet.

Solar thermal uses the free and renewable energy of the sun to heat your water. A solar thermal system cannot fully replace your boiler or immersion heater, but it drastically reduces their use – by at least 65% according to some manufacturers.
